CUPE Health Care Workers' Council of Unions

CUPE is the largest health care union in Saskatchewan, representing over 13,000 members. We represent a wide range of health care employees in five major classification areas: clerical, technical, nursing, support and plant operations. Together, we each contribute to the well being of hospital patients, long-term care residents and home care clients.

The CUPE Health Care Council of Unions promotes the interests and needs of its affiliated locals and bargains a provincial collective agreement.

Objectives

The primary objective of the CUPE Health Care Workers' Council of Unions is to voice the concerns and promote the interests of its members and their Locals.

Objectives of the Council

Secure adequate remuneration for work performed and generally advance the economic and social welfare of its members and of all workers.
Provide an opportunity for its members to influence and shape their future through free democratic trade unionism.
Encourage the settlement by negotiation and mediation of all disputes between the members and their employers.
Support CUPE in reaching the goals set out in the CUPE Constitution.
The Council shall act as the political voice of CUPE Saskatchewan Health Care Workers in conjunction with other Labour bodies.
Establish strong communication and working relationship between the Council, the Local and its members.
Any Local may submit a Local problem to the Council for assistance.
